How I Created HoldOn: Because Sweaty Hands Suck

I've been into sports my whole life. Started with tennis when I was just 6, then got into basketball, squash, and soccer (yeah, I lived in New York, so I say soccer not football). Eventually added CrossFit to the mix because apparently regular sports weren't making me sweat enough.

Then I discovered padel a few years back. Man, this game is addictive! If you haven't tried it yet, padel is basically taking over the world right now, and it's been blowing up in Bali for the last 2-3 years. It's got everything I love - technique, strategy, the satisfying feel of hitting a ball perfectly. Honestly, it combines all the best bits from every sport I've played.

The Sweat Problem Is Real
But here's the thing about playing sports in Bali – you sweat. So. Damn. Much.
I've never sweated as much as I do here. During CrossFit handstand walks, there'd be actual puddles below me. Chalk would just become this gross white mud. It's brutal.
And for all these sports, especially padel, you need grip. When my racket slipped for like the thousandth time, causing me to miss easy shots and break yet another wrist strap, I tried literally everything:

  • New grips every game (expensive)
  • Different grip materials (still got soaked)
  • Double grips (bulky and weird)
  • Those sticky sprays (that do nothing for the actual sweat)

Nothing really worked. The sweat always won.

My Weird Deodorant Hack
Then one day, out of desperation, I tried something kinda strange – I put deodorant on my hands before playing.
And you know what? It actually helped! Not perfect, but better than anything else I'd tried. Plus, my grip didn't smell like three hours of intense padel anymore, which was a nice bonus.
That's when it hit me – why isn't there a product that actually solves this problem properly? Something that stops the sweat AND improves grip at the same time?
From Frustration to Solution
Living in Indonesia's humidity, dealing with sweaty hands isn't just annoying – it seriously messes with your game. Whether you're playing at a padel club in Jakarta or hitting on the tennis courts in Bali, hand sweat is everyone's enemy.
I looked at what was available:

  • Towels (which work for about 10 seconds)
  • Chalk (messy and temporary)
  • Grip enhancers (that ignore the root problem)
  • Regular antiperspirants (not designed for active hands)

Nothing was solving both problems at once. We needed something that actually works in tropical conditions for racket sports players.

So I Made HoldOn
That's how HoldOn was born – out of my own frustration and countless missed shots. It's the first spray that's specifically designed to stop hand sweat AND enhance grip, lasting through an entire match.
Unlike other products, HoldOn:

  • Doesn't leave residue that ruins your expensive racket
  • Lasts through a full match (not just a few points)
  • Actually works in Bali's insane humidity
  • Dries quickly so you're not waiting around

From Personal Fix to Community Solution
What started as my own problem turned into something the whole racket sports community in Indonesia needed. Whether you're playing casual padel on the weekend or training for tournaments, your grip shouldn't be what's holding you back.
We developed and tested HoldOn right here on the courts of Bali, in the most challenging conditions imaginable. It's not some corporate product – it's created by someone who's lived the sweaty-hand struggle every day.
Because sometimes the best solutions come from the most annoying problems.
Ready to stop the slip? Check out HoldOn and never lose your grip again.
